Angri (SA), 11 May 2026La Doria – a leading European supplier of Italian speciality shelf-stable private label products, including, amongst others, tomatoes, ready-to-use sauces, canned pulses and pasta – has published its 2025 Sustainability Report. The report outlines the results achieved and the actions implemented by the Group, which is committed to creating shared value for all stakeholders through sustainability strategies and practices aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations.

“In 2025, sustainability once again represented for La Doria not only a responsibility, but also a strategic lever to address the transformation of the food sector with accountability and long-term vision. We continued to invest in more resilient and transparent supply chains, strengthening dialogue with suppliers, promoting predictive agriculture practices, efficient resource use and innovation across the entire value chain. At the same time, we further consolidated our environmental commitment through energy efficiency initiatives, increased use of renewable sources and the achievement of ISO 50001 certification,” said the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of La Doria, Antonio Ferraioli, who added: “2025 was a year of significant change for La Doria. The creation of Windoria, resulting from the combination of La Doria and Winland Foods, marks the beginning of a new phase of global growth, strengthening our ability to generate long-term value for people, territories and the markets in which we operate. People remain at the core of this journey, through a corporate culture based on safety, inclusion, training and well-being, alongside a constant focus on our local communities and future generations. With this long-term vision, we continue to build an increasingly sustainable food supply chain capable of creating shared value.”

Climate change mitigation and responsible energy management

La Doria’s commitment to combating climate change and protecting the environment is reflected not only in compliance with UNI ISO 14001:2015 standards across all production sites, but also in the development and adoption of new technologies aimed at reducing inefficiencies and increasing the use of cleaner energy sources. This includes the installation of photovoltaic systems across 10 sites and two high-efficiency cogeneration plants, located in Angri and Parma, enabling the simultaneous production of electricity and thermal energy while reducing overall consumption.

In 2025, the Angri plant also underwent further interventions to improve the energy efficiency of thermal processes, including the introduction of heat recovery systems from sterilizers and steam generators, allowing previously dispersed energy to be reused and reducing overall thermal demand.

At the same time, low-consumption lighting upgrades and the installation of monitoring devices continued across all plants, improving data collection, reporting and energy performance monitoring.

As a result of these ongoing investments, thermal and energy recovery enabled a reduction of 8,258 tCO₂ in 2025 (compared to 7,467.83 tCO₂ in 2024).

In 2025, La Doria also achieved ISO 50001 certification, an international standard supporting continuous improvement in energy performance, consumption reduction and optimization.

The Group’s commitment to tackling climate change extends beyond its direct operations to the entire supply chain, with targets to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 46.2% and Scope 3 emissions by 32.3% by 2031, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2024.

Packaging and logistics

Environmental responsibility is also reflected in the sustainability of packaging materials. In 2025, 928 million tinplate cans – by far the most widely used packaging – were self-produced, covering 98.6% of total requirements and avoiding the environmental impact associated with third-party transportation. Additionally, 100% of corrugated cardboard and 76% of polyethylene used were sourced from recycled materials.

Logistics organization is increasingly central to reducing environmental impact. Over the years, the Group has significantly expanded storage capacity at its production sites, reducing reliance on external warehouses, which are located on average just 17 km from plants.

La Doria also prioritizes local sourcing: 52% of raw material procurement and 77% of service procurement come from local suppliers.

Moreover, the proximity of the ports of Naples and Salerno enables efficient access to international markets and supports intermodal transport solutions, including maritime routes. In 2025, in cooperation with GTS, the increased use of rail transport over road transport led to a reduction of 445,852 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Waste and food loss prevention

The Group’s environmental commitment is also reflected in its focus on waste management and reduction, as demonstrated by a 98% waste recovery rate achieved in 2025.

Another key initiative involves donating products to charitable organizations, contributing to addressing food insecurity, managing surpluses and preventing food loss and waste. In 2025, La Doria donated products in Italy with a total value of €640,460.

The Group also supports farmers through ongoing collaboration aimed at reducing water consumption and the use of agrochemicals, including precision agriculture initiatives. In this context, the partnership with the start-up Evja continued in 2025, supporting tomato producers in optimizing crop nutrition, protection and irrigation through the use of wireless sensors and artificial intelligence.

In line with waste reduction and circular economy principles, specific initiatives are in place to enable the reuse of certain processing by-products by integrating them into third-party production processes.

This includes, for example, tomato and fruit peels reused in 2025 (7,766,637 kg), which are destined for animal feed; while fruit pits, generated during the purée production process at the Company’s facilities, are used in the confectionery industry or as biomass fuel.

Traceability and supply chain

La Doria considers traceability a fundamental element for responsible market operations. The Group ensures full traceability across all product lines, from origin to retail shelf, despite the diversity of raw materials and sourcing origins. For tomatoes, traceability extends to the cultivation batch level.

The Company is strongly committed to responsible supply chain management, promoting respect for human rights and fair working conditions among producers and suppliers. This is supported by a structured ethical risk monitoring system, with 77 audits conducted over the past two years by La Doria, its customers and third parties.

All tomatoes processed by La Doria are fully mechanically harvested, ensuring efficiency while reducing workers’ exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.

In 2025, the Group continued to promote GLOBAL G.A.P. GRASP certification among tomato producer organizations, supporting the adoption of best agronomic and social practices.

Furthermore, the Friend of the Earth certification for tomatoes and chickpeas grown in Italy was confirmed, promoting a sustainable agricultural model that integrates environmental protection and respect for workers throughout the production chain.

People and communities

The Company’s competitiveness is closely linked to the development of its people. In 2025, 21,607 hours of training were delivered (17,437 in 2024).

La Doria continues to promote flexible working arrangements and extends its commitment to people to the communities in which it operates, supporting local development and strengthening ties with the territory.

Key initiatives include “Rosso d’Estate”, aimed at creating job opportunities for young people through training and seasonal work experience, and the “Anna and Diodato Ferraioli” scholarships, now in their 11th edition, awarded to employees’ children, with 12 students receiving €1,000 each.

The Company also continued to support the Mus-e project, promoted by Fondazione Mus-e Italia ETS, fostering creativity, inclusion and personal development among children, particularly in disadvantaged contexts. The initiative, now in its third year, involves 200 students.

In 2025, La Doria renewed its participation in the UNHCR Welcome. Working for Refugee Integration programme, resulting in the hiring of five additional fixed-term employees.

Innovation

For La Doria, sustainability is closely linked to innovation. In 2025, the Group strengthened its commitment to meeting growing demand for organic, vegan, free-from and healthy products, launching 149 projects across all business lines.

Recent developments include vegan pesto, pulses, white sauces for the US market and reduced-sugar products, alongside recipes inspired by local culinary traditions and high-quality regional ingredients.

In 2025, innovation activities focused both on improving existing recipes and extending established product ranges to new customers, with particular attention to new ingredients and sustainable packaging solutions.
