Art, inclusion and community: the MUS-E project concludes in primary schools
The three-year MUS-E project, involving 164 primary school pupils from the “D.E. Smaldone” Comprehensive Institute in Angri and the “Episcopio” Comprehensive Institute in Sarno, has come to a close with a celebratory event. The programme continues in lower secondary school, where it has reached its second year. Overall, the project has engaged around 200 children.
Promoted by the Mus-e Italia ETS Foundation and supported by La Doria, the project has guided children through an educational journey based on art as a tool for expression, growth and inclusion. Through workshops in ceramics, theatre, expressive movement and clowning, led by professional artists, students have developed creativity, self-awareness and openness towards others, gaining access to expressive tools not always readily available, particularly in more socially complex contexts.
The value of the project also lies in its continuity: three years of activities have made it possible to build a stable and meaningful path, capable of generating a tangible impact on the lives of the children and within the school environment.
At the conclusion of this journey, a mosaic panel made up of the children’s ceramic works was unveiled: a collective artwork installed on the external wall of the “Smaldone” school in Angri, as a lasting and tangible symbol of the shared experience.
Supporting MUS-E represents a concrete commitment for La Doria towards the local communities in which it operates, in the belief that doing business also means contributing to the educational and social development of future generations.
